ABOUT LANNIE
My name is Lannie Hall and I am the founder of Eikones Studio. I have an affection for travel and my passion is to document my journeys through the lens of my camera. My style of photography is to approach the subject of interest from a documentary point of view and black & white images are what I am most attracted to. I appreciate the look of a documentary or journalistic perspective in a photograph versus a computer generated image that at times can be beautiful as well.
I have been in love with photography since I was a teenager. My mother purchased a second hand Mamiya Sekor 35mm film camera as a Christmas gift for me when I was fourteen years old thinking it would be another passing interest before I would move onto the next big thing. This same camera helped me to discover my path in Journalism at the University of Oklahoma that is my alma mater today and where I earned my degree in Advertising and worked as a professional photographer. Here we are forty years later since I opened that wonderful gift my mother gave me. I have had different experiences throughout life that took me away from photography professionally but they gave me the stepping stones to get me where I am today and my passion is stronger than ever. I have been blessed to have traveled throughout Europe and North America during my corporate life in a sales & marketing leadership role but I never lost my affection for photography. In many cases, having my camera in hand throughout the years allowed me to build an amazing portfolio. Today, you can find my work in retail stores around the country like Pottery Barn and Bassett Furniture to name a few. I have had top stars in Hollywood and country singers in Nashville buy my work for their homes. I wish my mom was alive today to see that Christmas gift sparked a passion that has lasted a lifetime for me.
If you are curious about our name, Eikones is the latin word for images and I hope for the person viewing my work will feel the art or connect to the passion of the image.
